Electromobility

Electromobility technology has significant benefits for both the driver and the environment, as electric vehicles have a high energy efficiency and a lower emissions footprint than their conventional counterparts with exclusively internal combustion engines.

Points of excellence and benefits of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles

  • Lower running costs compared to conventional vehicles, due to increased efficiency, but also due to the fact that the price of electricity (per unit of energy) is lower than that of any fossil fuel
  • Εxcellent performance, in terms of comfort and ease of driving and energy security, as the torque is delivered at maximum instantaneously and is almost constant
  • Reduction of overall consumption and usage costs, thanks to the possibility of recovering energy from braking, which charges the battery
  • Lower maintenance costs compared to conventional vehicles
  • Low to zero emissions during operation
  • Low to zero overall pollutant footprint if charged from renewable energy sources
  • Limitation of global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions and reduction of dependence on fossil fuels
  • Reduced noise pollution levels in cities and significantly less impact on natural ecosystems, as they are virtually silent
European Green Deal on Electromobility
By 2030 the world will look different…

Change is accelerating. The European Commission has launched the first tranche of 'Fit for 55%' measures that will underpin the European climate neutrality policy framework and put the EU on track for a 55% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.

Over the next decade the European Union plans to invest €1 trillion under the European Green Deal. It is projected that the result will be around 40 million electric vehicles on the roads and 3 million publicly accessible charging points.
